Following the introduction of the CX-90 and CX-70 with mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains Mazda today unveils the all-new CX-50 Hybrid. However, unlike the first two models mentioned, the CX-50 Hybrid will not be powered by a fully Mazda-designed engine. In fact, thanks to a partnership with Toyota, it is rather the powertrain of the popular RAV4 Hybrid that will power the CX-50 Hybrid.

New Engine
Under the hood of the 2025 CX-50 Hybrid lies a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a battery that powers three electric motors. The output will be 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque, and it will be transmitted to all four wheels via a CVT and electric all-wheel drive. While these figures differ from the base gasoline (187 hp / 185 lb-ft) and turbocharged (256 hp / 320 lb-ft) versions, the advantage lies in fuel consumption.
Mazda claims that the new 2025 CX-50 Hybrid has a combined fuel economy rating of just 6.2 L/100 km, which is an improvement of over 40% over the gasoline CX-50!

Mazda Calibrated Drivetrain
If one thing is unanimous in the automotive world, it's that Mazda vehicles offer superior driving pleasure compared to other Japanese manufacturers, including Toyota. The brand's engineers have therefore taken care to calibrate the smallest details of the hybrid powertrain in their own unique way. Better accelerator and brake pedal response, steering precision, chassis rigidity, and driving modes dedicated to the CX-50 Hybrid, such as Power or Trail, are just a few examples.

Focused On An Active Lifestyle
Like the gasoline version, the CX-50 is designed to appeal to people with an active lifestyle. With a towing capacity of 1,500 lb, it's perfect for taking your jet skis or other similarly sized toys on your next adventure. The cargo volume has also been optimized thanks to the ingenious placement of the battery in the rear underbody, which maximizes space and allows you to easily carry luggage and bicycles.
Intuitive And Comfortable Interior
Inside the 2025 CX-50 Hybrid, the flowing center console and 10.25-inch touchscreen seamlessly integrate with the dashboard to create an intuitive and user-friendly interface. The ergonomic controls are placed within easy reach, allowing you to control the vehicle with confidence and without effort.

Whether you're in the front or back, the CX-50 Hybrid offers exceptional comfort for all passengers. The front seats offer adjustable lumbar support and generous headroom and legroom, while the reclining rear seats and ample legroom ensure optimal comfort even for the tallest passengers.
